Founder & CEO
Nadine is a Swiss-born German, Kiwi, US transplant, and founder of the music technology company, Wurrly, LLC. She began her career as an international trade lawyer but after 6 years of practice she began to pursue a career in music as a professional opera singer and songwriter. She has performed extensively all over the United States and the world, sharing the stage with David Foster, Andrea Boccelli, Kiri Te Kanawa, Roger Daltry, Christina Perri, and Steven Tyler to name a few. Passionate about music in schools she sits on the national board of Little Kids Rock and on the Advisory Board of Harmony Project, and in 2016 led the development of the music education platform WURRLYedu. She studied at Auckland University, and holds a Bachelor of Law and Arts.
Chief Financial Officer
Trey started his career in government, working at the U.S. Department of Commerce and the White House where he served as an Associate Director for Political Affairs. During his time in Washington he was asked to work on numerous campaigns, including a successful gubernatorial race in North Carolina. After politics, Trey turned his attention to finance. He worked for JPMorgan Chase & Co for five years in a number of positions, including on the Global Emerging Markets desk in New York. He was asked to move to Los Angeles to help build out the Chase Wealth Management platform in California, and after a successful rollout he was appointed Chief Financial Officer for the Western Region at Chase Bank. A keen golfer, Trey has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Chief Technology Officer
Sherman has served various technology leadership roles in large companies like DIRECTV and Yamaha to internet startups like Restoration Media and Learning Network. He has a background on both sides of product and technology in industries that include: online education, consumer goods, data management, music industry, and healthcare.
Director, Music Licensing
Theresa manages the clearance and licensing of music rights for Wurrly, and brings over two decades of experience, with a background in music publishing. Theresa is a USC graduate, who started her career in publishing at Orion Pictures, and later moved over to join longtime publisher, Lionel Conway, at Maverick Music, which was a joint venture between Madonna and Warner Chappell Music. She went on to become the Director of Copyright & Licensing for Mosaic Music, and then Stage Three Music, both under Conway’s leadership, where she negotiated and licensed deals for songs used in national commercials, feature films, television, digital, and other various uses. She also facilitated the negotiations, and managed all sub-publishing deals for both companies international licensing & collections, and was instrumental in the eventual acquisition of Mosaic Music, to Stage Three Music (now a part of BMG Music). During that period, she also handled copyright, licensing & sub publishing for the Jalma Music catalog, which contains songs by the critically acclaimed, multiple Grammy award-winning artist/writer, Tom Waits & Kathleen Brennan. Prior to joining Wurrly, Theresa was a licensing consultant to Words and Music Administration, now a division of Big Deal Music, in Nashville.
Head of Curriculum
Neil has taught music at every level, from primary school through to graduate studies and in four different continents. He received his Ph.D. in Music Theory from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and has articles published in multiple scholarly journals and edited volumes with a focus on both post-tonal music theory and popular music. As the Contributing Editor in Music Theory for the A-R Editions Anthology, Neil has helped to produce a multi-authored textbook providing a thorough overview of the undergraduate music curriculum. Further to his academic interests, Neil is also an active performer on guitar and mandolin, and has performed as a soloist for the Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra, as the principal mandolin for the Santa Barbara Folk Orchestra and has released three albums.
Senior IOS Developer
Originally from the UK, Alistair graduated from Berklee College of Music. After over a decade composing for film/TV, composing in code followed naturally. Along with formal studies in Applications Programming at UCLA, Alistair launched multiple iOS apps before joining Wurrly. He also writes a Swift blog and enjoys Ironman triathlon.
Front End Engineer
Junior Software Engineer
John has found his calling working with Wurrly, LLC. Ranging from Data Analytics to Development Operations, he has assisted the engineering team with passion and enthusiasm. As a hobby, John enjoys playing around with game development engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity.
John has over ten years of experience as a Java and web application developer working in sectors like national security and international development. At the World Bank, John developed a climate data API in support of an apps for climate competition. Before that, John spent a year in Rwanda working on open source medical record systems for an ambitious global health organization. He is a specialist in spatial data, having worked at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and getting a Master's of Science in Geoinformation Sciences from the University of Edinburgh. At Wurrly, John is a backend developer working on building robust APIs and data services.
Roxy Castillo (Lennie Yco) is a Filipino born, graduate from STI Manila. A former Android Consultant for Undisclosed Digital Media Client, she manages all Quality Assurance for Wurrly. Roxy is passionate about singing, which she says allows her to express herself in ways that she wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.
Andrew Andersen is the Marketing Director for Wurrly LLC with extensive experience in artist management, social media and entertainment merchandise. Previously, Andrew started in the music industry specifically in the entertainment merchandise field working with artists like Beyonce, Bon Jovi and Iron Maiden. He then moved into a marketing role in artist management and coordinated digital marketing initiatives across many platforms.
Digital Content Producer
Jason Rodriguez was born and raised in Southern California. While completing his Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Journalism at California State University, Long Beach, he worked at various late night talk shows including The Late Late Show with James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jason then went on to earn his Master's of Fine Arts degree from Chapman University with an emphasis in Film and Television Producing. He has produced 5 award-winning short films in various genres including comedy, drama, and thrillers. Jason is currently the Digital Content Producer for Wurrly and WURRLYedu.
Creative Content Designer
Originally from Orange County, Nick Jackson works as a Creative Content Designer within the marketing team at Wurrly. After completing his A.S. at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Jackson went on to attend California State University, Northridge where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Film Production. In the past, he has directed and produced an array of narrative films while also working as a freelance graphic designer.
Lauren is UX Designer. With a background working on consumer brands such as Apple, Toyota and Lexus, she combines an empathy for the consumer experience with an affinity for research-driven design. She's passionate about creating smart, beautiful experiences for users.
Mitzi is a Mexican born, screen junkie and a gamer-by-heart, she has more than 15 years of experience in identity, print, web, and mobile layout design. Prior to Wurrly, she had the opportunity to develop mobile applications for the entertainment industry, with clients like Fox, Buick, Walgreen's and NCR. Now working as a UI Graphic Design at Wurrly, she brings creative and effective solutions, delivers and maintains all UI visualizations for Wurrly. Mitzi holds a Graphic Design Bachelor Degree from The University of Texas at El Paso.
Bukhtawer is a designer with a fresh, keen eye. Her life secrets are empathy and uncomfortable experiences. As a designer, if peanuts were her design, empathy would be the machine turning her work into creamy peanut butter designs. She has previously worked as Gender and Development Communications Manager, and a Community Health Volunteer for Peace Corps, Ethiopia. A UX designer for Kaatsu Global, and as a freelance Graphic Designer. Through her work in design, her goal is to enable others to find their own power.
Tal Meltzer is a gold record winning pop producer and songwriter with over 500 million streams. After graduating from USC’s Music Business program, he signed to Artist Publishing Group and has since worked with artists such as Cash Cash, Lindsey Stirling, Beck, Train, Kiesza and more. Tal continues to write and produce under the name Nineteen90 and runs Super X Studio in Hollywood, California.
Music Catalog & Content Creator
With a background in television production and event management, Cortney was thrilled to jump on board as one of the first members of Team Wurrly and give users a unique new way to showcase their talent. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Cortney has produced a variety of live red carpets, including the Emmys, Oscars, and Grammys, and helped various companies execute large-scale fundraising events. In addition to managing Wurrly's music catalog, Cortney also handles events and media for Wolf Connection, a non-profit wolfdog rescue and youth empowerment program.
Nick is a musician born and raised in the Bay Area. He graduated from USC in 2014 and continues to live in Los Angeles. Nick works with the team to make sure the songs all look good and read smoothly when learning or singing along.
Robert’s involvement with music starts very early on in his life. At the age of seven, he began learning piano. He then studied classical music privately until attending Berklee College of Music in 2010 where he broadened his repertoire to include jazz, latin, and contemporary music. Majoring in Professional Music with a concentration in Film Scoring and Music Business, Robert completed his Bachelors of Music in 2015. He did this with the mindset of focusing on a career in the music industry. This has led to work on a wide variety of visual media projects as a music supervisor and music editor. Robert has always had an inclination towards incorporating music into visual & interactive media and has looked for new and exciting ways to implement it!
